1. Dance Party!!! Throw on your favorite song or playlist or make your own music and groove around the house. Whether there are few or many, a dance party is a great way to add movement to your day, and can offer a fun transition before or after school. It is a good way to get your heart rate up and help improve your kids endurance – indoors or outdoors.
2. Joining a team activity or create your own with friends, such as like soccer, basketball, football, dance, etc.
3. Get outside for a short walk, before/after school or during breaks in the day. If weather doesn’t permit outdoor activities, consider googling or youtubing a kids workout activity.
4. Take the stairs. When given the option between stairs or elevator, opt for the stairs! Not only can you make it fun (like trying to race or stepping on pretend bugs, counting steps) it is a good way to work on leg strength and muscle endurance.
5. Grab a ball and play catch or work on kicking! This simple form of play can help with coordination and both fine and gross motor skills.
