Torticollis

Torticollis and Plagiocephaly

Torticollis is a condition that impacts the muscles in the neck, causing a baby's head to tilt down and creating a preference in how their head turns.

Some children may develop plagiocephaly, either as a result of torticollis or due to sleeping in the same position most of the time.

Early treatment of these conditions can prevent long term issues including developmental delays.

Signs your child may benefit from Physical Therapy:

Looks to one side, left or right persistently
Holds head in tilted position
Becomes upset when placed on their stomach
Has flat spot on back or side of head
If breastfed, has trouble with one side or favors one breast
