- Make an Obstacle Course
- Try making a trail of wobbly couch cushions and pillows, use rolled up towels to make a balance beam, or use masking tape to create hurdles. Get creative, and have your child help as you create something fun!
- Use a Stomp Rocket
- Practice standing on one foot while launching rockets. Countdown from 5 while your child balances on one foot, then allow them to STOMP and watch the rocket fly! Make sure to practice both legs!
- Use a Playground Ball
- Practice balancing with one foot up on a ball. Can your child roll it slowly to draw circles, or other shapes on the ground? Can they stay balanced while you play catch with another ball? Make sure you practice both sides!
- Use Stickers
- Place a sticker on your child’s foot, then help them balance while lifting up their leg to remove it. After they’ve retrieved their sticker, they can place it on a piece of paper taped to the wall to make a work of art!
- Use Rings and a Cone
-
- Can your child lift a ring placed on their foot onto a cone using only their feet? How many can they do in a row? Try standing on a pillow or soft mat once they have mastered balancing on a firm surface!
