Helping Your Child Cope

First and foremost, we hope that each and every one of you are safe. Our prayers are with those that have lost their homes, found themselves evacuated, and for the tireless efforts of those fighting for our safety. Our hearts are heavy with so much loss for those around us and our beautiful state.
Our children feel our emotions and sense our fear. Their behavior may be off in a variety of ways. They may need extra attention and snuggles. This link is a guideline for talking to your kids about disasters and traumatic events.

So many routines have been disrupted. If you are able, instilling some form of a routine your child will recognize will be comforting. Even if that routine is simply sitting together for a meal, singing a familiar song or tucking them into bed. Routines help us feel normal and provide structure when things are messy and disorganized. And boy are they.
Please know that our team at Connect The Dots is here for you.
Stay safe.
