Have a Hoppy Easter – 3 PT Activities for Spring!

  1. An Exercise Egg Hunt!
Write down exercises and stash them inside Easter eggs hidden around your home or yard. Let your child help with this process if possible, allowing them to fill some of the eggs with fun activities (“Would you like this egg to be dinosaur stomps, or a dance party?”). This is our favorite Easter activity, as it can be easily tailored to the specific skills that your child is working on, and your child will look forward to finding the eggs that they picked!
    1. Bunny Hops
‘Tis the season for jumping skills!  Practice bilateral coordination with hopping like a bunny. Hop to retrieve toys or plastic eggs, leaving a basket or container on one side of the room and toys on the other. Also practice hoping far, hopping high, and hopping down from ledges without falling.
      1. Egg Races and Balance Challenges
Egg and spoon races are a classic Easter tradition. They are also a great way to work on balance and coordination! Try modifying this tradition so that your child is competing against themself, and working to balance an egg on a spoon while slowly navigating an obstacle course. Easy DIY obstacle courses can include pillow walking, painter’s tape balance beams, stepping over hurdles or obstacles, and weaving between objects. See how many eggs can get across the gauntlet without falling!
